Welcome Home Sorensen & Mills Families

Final Dedication Ceremony in Lindsay: families receive keys to their homes as Habitat completes the 4th & 5th home build that was part of a multi-home development on Hamilton Street.

After a long journey of hard work from community volunteers, supporters and partner families, it’s time for Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region to celebrate the completion of its 5-home development on Hamilton St. in Lindsay.

Habitat was excited to welcome our 35 & 36 families into homeownership.

On Monday April 15 two Lindsay families received their keys to their new Habitat homes. The Sorensen, and Mills families couldn’t be happier to be turning over a new leaf and becoming home owners for the first time.

“We prayed and dreamed for years about owning our own house… a place that is OURS. It didn’t seem like it would ever happen. We are so thankful that God blessed us with a home through Habitat for Humanity and all the amazing volunteers that have given their time and energy for our family! Thank you all so much!” Tara

We are so blessed and grateful for this opportunity. Habitat has really lifted our spirits and given our family something to look forward to.” Brea

Habitat partners provide our organization with the essential construction materials, cash funding, and volunteer labour that enables us to continue helping family after family into safe, decent, and affordable homeownership.

One of our most valued, longstanding and generous partners is Alf Curtis Home Improvements – a LOCAL business that we are so proud to call our Home Building Partner. Alf Curtis commits to providing quality building products at cost for Habitat homes across our region and for that Habitat is incredibly thankful.

We are also incredibly grateful for the generous support from Bill Larocque’s Insulation, O’Neill Excavating, and John Martin Roofing & Renovations.

Habitat would also like to recognize Lifeline Telecare Lindsay Inc. Your significant contribution has helped to make the dream of homeownership a reality for families in your community. Through your support, the memory of Telecare Lindsay will live on through your investment in building these homes for local families in your community.

The success of this project would not have been possible without the incredible volunteers, participants, sponsors, and donors who organized and supported the Lindsay Amazing Race for the last 5 years. Because of your commitment, enthusiasm, and extraordinary generosity over $55,000 was raised to help build these homes in your community.

Habitat would also like to recognize the outpouring of generosity from the many, many, individuals and community partners who so generously gave their loyal support to create these homes through organizing events such as Raise the Roof, and the M&M Charity BBQ, and through their in kind and cash donations.
