Meet Bonnie – Lindsay Homeowner

Posted: 08-Jul-2019

Bonnie finds a feeling of home when she is surrounded by family, in a secure place that reflects their style. While renting an older home in Lindsay, Bonnie found that the high monthly rental rates made it nearly impossible to save enough for a down payment, making the purchase of her first home seem further out of reach.

On the recommendation of her sister, Bonnie turned to Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region and, on the approval of her application for the Homeownership Program, felt that she was finally able to establish a secure financial future for her family.

Bonnie is excited to experience the benefits of homeownership, as a first-time owner and is especially looking forward to having the freedom to decorate it as she chooses. She’s happy to have a place to play outside with her children, Alexandra and Aaron, and their dog, George.

Bonnie, Alexandra, and Aaron have already begun their 500 Volunteer Hours by volunteering at various Habitat events, and Bonnie is also planning to help in the construction of their new home.
