Storm Updates

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing impact of the ice storm, we are still experiencing some operational challenges. Here’s the latest update:
LAST UPDATED: Wednesday, April 2 at 11:30am
Office Closure:
Our office is closed due to an ongoing loss of internet. You can still reach us at info@habitatpkr.ca and our team will respond as soon as possible.
Habitat ReStore & Tool Library Updates:
Peterborough North Habitat for Humanity ReStore
Open 10am – 5pm today for shopping and donations. Cash only as there is still no internet.
Lindsay Habitat for Humanity ReStore
Open 9am – 5pm today for shopping and donations. Fully operational, accepting cash, debit, and credit transactions.
Lakefield Habitat for Humanity ReStore
Unfortunately closed due to a continued loss of power. The community is encouraged to divert any donations to the Peterborough North ReStore.
Peterborough Tool Library
Remains closed due to loss of internet. If you have overdue tools, please hold on to them until the library reopens. Late fees for tools that were due to be returned from Saturday to now will be waived.
Donation Pick-Ups & ReStore Deliveries:
Thank you for your patience! Our procurement team has rescheduled missed pick-ups from Monday, March 31 and is back on the road. Due to an ongoing loss of power in their Lakefield office, they will be difficult to reach by phone. However, if you’d like to schedule a free donation pick-up or inquire about the status of a previous request, email donate@habitatpkr.ca and our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
Fraserville 3D Habitat Build Community Meeting Postponed
Due to the recent ice storm causing power outages, fallen trees, and unsafe roads, the community meeting scheduled for April 3 at Centreville Presbyterian Church has been postponed. A new date is being planned—sign up here to receive updates, meet the future homeowners, and learn how to get involved. Please help spread the word!
A huge thank you to the City of Peterborough, Selwyn Township, Peterborough County, the City of Kawartha Lakes, and Hydro One for working tirelessly through this state of emergency. We are so proud to be part of a community that comes together in times of hardship to support one another.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support! Stay tuned on this page for further updates and please stay safe!
