National Housing Survey 2023

On National Housing Day, we recognize the critical role housing plays in helping families thrive while providing a space for children to grow and learn. We also know the unfortunate reality that far too many Canadians do not have a safe and secure home to make all this possible.
With the lack of affordable housing being a top concern across Canada, Habitat for Humanity Canada has released its 2023 national survey revealing Canadians’ attitudes towards the housing crisis and their growing concerns about the ability to afford housing in this country – for themselves, their children, and generations to come.
The survey underscores the importance of tackling the housing crisis because Canadians clearly value homeownership and access to housing. Decent housing transforms futures, strengthens communities, enhances well-being, and fosters resilience and stability that can transcend generations
