National Waste Reduction Week (Oct 17-23)
Waste reduction week is a national initiative that challenges businesses, organizations, and individuals to reduce their ecological footprint and to come up with unique and creative ways to reduce waste.
Habitat ReStores accept furniture, appliances, building materials, excess business stock, etc. But, did you know that we also accept and recycle scrap metal, batteries, e-waste, and not working appliances?
At Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region and in our Habitat ReStores, we take pride in working within the Canadian circular economy which promotes environmentally sustainable practices: swapping, repairing, and purchasing used items.
If you’re looking to reduce your environmental footprint, visit a Habitat ReStore and complete your next to-do list using donated products. Every purchase at the ReStore helps build decent, affordable homes in your community.
Our ReStores are open Monday – Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm for in-store shopping and donation drop-offs.
