PKHBA Holiday Charity Auction for Habitat PKR raises over $21,000
Today we want to say a huge Habitat THANK YOU to everyone who supported our Annual Charity Holiday Auction, in partnership with the amazing Peterborough & The Kawarthas Home Builders Association (PKHBA).
Due to the generosity of local trades, contractors, and local businesses who have seen the value in the work we do, and the increased need for housing solutions across the Peterborough and Kawartha Region, the fundraising event in December was able to raise a whopping total of $42,377 – making it our most successful auction to date! The funds raised will be split evenly, with $21,188.70 going towards Habitat for Humanity PKR.
The charity auction was held last December 7, 2023, at The StoneHouse Hall, and was attended by several organizations and businesses. Gift certificates, items, and sports game tickets, were auctioned off and sold to the highest bidders who attended the event.
Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region CEO Susan Zambonin welcomed the guests and shared how the charity event donations will benefit families needing safe, decent, and affordable housing. Habitat homeowner Jennifer shared her story of how a hand-up from Habitat will improved her and her daughter’s lives.
The funds raised from the event will support Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region’s build projects, including the 12-unit condo development on Leahy’s Lane.
