RBC Supports Habitat PKR on Corporate Build Day

At Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region, we believe in the transformative power of community and the importance of building safe and affordable homeownership opportunities for local families – that’s why we were thrilled to welcome the community-minded team from the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) to our Leahy’s Lane Phase 2 build site for a Corporate Build Day on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

The RBC team provided our construction team with exceptional support on-site at our current 12-unit affordable condo development. On the build-site, RBC installed insulation in three of the twelve units and also put up vapour barriers in two units, far exceeding our expectations and making significant progress towards our goal of providing a hand-up into affordable homeownership for 12 local families.

The RBC team also enjoyed a well-deserved hearty lunch, courtesy of Domino’s Pizza Peterborough who generously supports our Corporate Build Day program by contributing delicious and fresh pizza to fuel our hardworking volunteers.

The Corporate Build Day program at Habitat PKR is a unique opportunity for corporate companies like RBC to make a direct and meaningful impact and investment in their community. By sponsoring a Corporate Build Day, not only do Habitat families get into their homes faster, but 100% of all donations are directly invested into the build, covering essential expenses such as skilled labour, fees, and supplies necessary for completion. Together, we can continue to build stronger, more vibrant communities where everyone has a place to call home.
