Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) Raise $2200 for Habitat for Humanity PKR at their TKE in a Box Fundraiser

Posted: 28-Feb-2024

A huge habitat THANK YOU to members of the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) who completed their 13th annual ‘TKE in a Box’ fundraiser on February 2-4 and raised a total of $2267 in support of Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region’s 12-unit affordable condo development Leahy’s Lane Phase 2.

The student volunteers spent 48 hours out in the cold in a makeshift temporary shelter in downtown Peterborough outside Venture North to raise funds and awareness on housing issues and the need for safe, decent affordable homes in the community.

From left Habitat for Humanity PKR Volunteer & Domino’s Assistant Manager Sourabh, Members of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) Benjamin, Anan, Frank and Future Habitat Homeowners Dharmik (Domino’s General Manager) and Shaili.

During their campout, TKE were generously treated to a delicious lunch courtesy of Domino’s Pizza, Peterborough, and also had the opportunity to chat with our future Habitat homeowners Dharmik and Shaili, hearing first-hand the transformative impact of affordable homeownership and the vital role it plays in strengthening our community.

Thank you TKE for all of your support – your gift will transform the lives of many more families in need of safe, decent & affordable homes in the community.
