We are excited to share that we are currently constructing a 12-unit condo development in the City of Peterborough as part of our Phase 2 Leahy’s Lane project. When complete, Phase 1 and 2 will provide a total of 53 affordable homeownership opportunities for working families and individuals in the Peterborough region.
We are currently accepting corporate groups of up to 10 individuals to help us with the construction of these homes. By sponsoring a Build Day, not only do Habitat Families get into their homes faster, 100% of all donations are directly invested into the build for things such as skilled labour, fees, and supplies necessary for completion.
what does a corporate build day look like?
On the build site, your team will work under the direction of Habitat staff and trained volunteers who are skilled in residential house construction. Your team members will roll up their sleeves and work together to help families build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership.
Activities may include installing drywall, insulation, vapour barrier, fire taping and more.
Your team will also receive:
- Hearty lunch, snacks and drinks to fuel your day.
- Memento T-Shirts for each team member.
- Branded, curated social media toolkits for your use, as well as promotion of your team’s involvement on our social media and website.
- Commemorative team photo and thank you letter on behalf of Habitat Peterborough & Kawartha Region.
- An invitation to our next Family Dedication event where you get to celebrate with families who have moved into their new homes – thanks to your team’s support!

A Corporate Build Day is ideal for corporate teams looking to give back to the community meaningfully while learning new skills and cultivating an energetic and unified workforce. Our customizable programs aim to meet your employee engagement and team-building objectives and participants get the opportunity to work in collaborative groups to complete tasks and accomplish something meaningful for their community.
For an exclusive Corporate Build Day for a corporate partner, we request that companies draw upon their corporate giving portfolio to help us, financially or with in-kind support, to continue to build homes in our local communities. In return, we provide you with a rewarding team-building experience and customized exposure for your company that goes beyond the Corporate Build Day.
Minimum Donation: $2,500 (Up to 10 Participants)
As a Corporate Build Day participant, you help to pay for the building materials and the land, which greatly helps with the construction costs and directly benefits a Habitat partner family or individual – while taking part in a rewarding and powerful team-building experience! The combination of volunteer hours and financial contributions doubles your impact! Investing in a Habitat PKR build is an investment in your team members, community, and corporate brand.
